Jets wake-up call: Day 29

August, 21, 2014
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- It’s the New York Jets' final practice of training camp, and it will be at the team’s old headquarters at Hofstra for the team’s original fanbase. Here’s what we’ll be watching for:
  • The Jets have been rotating corners in at the starting spot, so who will it be today? Even though it’s just a walkthrough, Ryan might have a few more interesting combinations of former backups such as Darrin Walls.
  • Who’s got the microphone next? The Jets and Giants have another full day to chat it up before they face off for the Snoopy Bowl. That’s plenty of time for a few more choice words to get slung over the fence.
  • Sure, it’s not the regular season, but this is a game coach Rex Ryan would like to win. And moreover, it’s the dress rehearsal for the regular season. That may be more true at wide receiver than at any other position. Eric Decker could be ready to go, Jeremy Kerley and David Nelson likely have their spots in hand, but Greg Salas, Stephen Hill, Quincy Enunwa, Clyde Gates, Jacoby Ford and Michael Campbell could all use quality reps as first cut-downs loom Saturday.
