Tough practice Thursday. Three players suffered injuries, all believed to be minor -- WR Santonio Holmes (quadriceps), S Eric Smith (sprained ankle) and RB/KR Joe McKnight (dislocated finger).
All three are expected to play Sunday against the Jaguars, according to Rex Ryan.
"Nothing to worry about. Game day is on Sunday," said Holmes, already nursing a minor knee injury.
Smith, who wasn't available in the locker room during the media period, turned an ankle toward the end of practice and missed the last few plays. He's a key player in the game because he's involved in the plan for Jaguars Pro Bowl TE Marcedes Lewis, who's battling his own injury (pulled calf). Lewis has missed the last two days of practice, but the Jets expect him to play.
ODDS AND ENDS: Rookie DE Muhammad Wilkerson was "solid, not spectacular" in his debut, according to defensive coordinator Mike Pettine ... Rookie NT Kenrick Ellis, inactive last week, is having a good week of practice and could be active. The Jaguars are a running team, and the Jets want want extra beef in the defensive-line rotation ... Former Patriots OLB Tully Banta-Cain, who came in Tuesday for a workout, left his mark -- on the face of OLB coach Jeff Weeks. During a pass-rushing drill, Banta-Cain accidentally hit Weeks in the face and gave him a fat lip. Revenge of the ex-Patriot?

I'm wondering if Jay Z makes it to Cortland this summer for training camp. I'm sure he'd be a big hit at Doug's Fish Fry. #Jets
