If Joe McKnight is to have a larger slice of the Jets offensive pie this weekend in Buffalo, he'll be the last to know about it. After practice, the running back said as far as he knew things were status quo.

“But we got the playbook today, and I had my couple plays in, and it was like a balance of WR and RB, that’s the same role I’ve been doing the whole year.”

McKnight had no idea Rex Ryan had told the media he intended to get him more involved.

"Yes," Ryan said. "Absolutely he'll get more opportunities this week."

Last season McKnight had 158 yards on 32 carries for the Jets, in a game that took place on Jan. 2 with the Jets securely in the playoffs.

Once he heard that Ryan was on record about things changing, McKnight laughed that he was interested to see the part of the playbook that usually gets distributed on Thursday.

“Ya’ll making it real exciting for me,” McKnight said.
