Analysis of the defensive shift

John McTigue, of ESPN Stats & Information, provides an interesting take on the Jets' subtle shift in defensive philosophy.

In 2009, the Jets were the most aggressive pass-rushing team in the league, sending at least five rushers on 52.4 percent of pass plays. They've gone the conservative route, and it started last December, when S Jim Leonhard broke his leg a few days before the Jets faced the Patriots -- a game they would lose, 45-3.

Check out McTigue's explanation, fitting with another big game against the Patriots this week.
