Tomlinson ups and downs

November, 14, 2011

LaDainian Tomlinson will likely be in the Hall of Fame, and his numbers brought him into deeper into elite territory Sunday night. With a 16-yard catch in the fourth quarter, Tomlinson passed Barry Sanders to take the No. 5 spot on the all-time scrimmage yards list with 18,206.

Still, the magnitude of the Jets loss was foremost in his mind after the game.

It was a big game for us," Tomlinson said. "We put everything into it and there was a lot on the line. To not win a game is a setback, but at the same time we still have a lot of ballgames to play."

In the loss to the Patriots, Tomlinson had 38 yards on seven carries, and 22 yards on two catches. In the fourth quarter, Tomlinson hurt his leg however, and Jets coach Rex Ryan said he would have an MRI on Monday.

"I don't know the severity of it," Ryan said.
