Ellis to start

December, 2, 2011

Kendrick Ellis will start in place of DE Mike DeVito (left knee) this Sunday in Washington, Jets coach Rex Ryan said Friday. Ellis started for DeVito in the Chargers game and had one tackle. The rookie defensive lineman has five tackles this season.

DeVito was injured last week in the win over the Bills.

Ryan said that WR Jeremy Kerley and RB LaDainian Tomlinson will play Sunday, and that Kerley will be back returning punts.

“I think everybody is basically going to be back in similar roles that they had before they were injured,” Ryan said.
