Jets cut Patrick Turner, down to 3 WRs

By Rich Cimini

The Mark Sanchez-Patrick Turner reunion lasted all of two days.

The former Miami Dolphins wide receiver, whom the New York Jets claimed Sunday on waivers, was waived Tuesday, the team annouced. Sanchez, who played with Turner at USC, spoke glowingly of him earlier in the day, saying he reminde him of Jerricho Cotchery.

There's a chance they could re-sign Turner to the practice squad. He was a third-round pick in 2009 and hasn't come close to meeting expectations, obviously.

The move leaves the Jets with only three receivers for the season opener -- Cotchery, Braylon Edwards and Brad Smith. RB Danny Woodhead also can play receiver.

The Jets also made some practice squad moves, releasing OLB Ricky Foley and S Don Warren and signing LB Cody Brown. Brown was a second-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2009.

The practice squad looks like this: Brown, C Robby Felix, DT Jarron Gilbert, LB Josh Mauga, WR Larry Taylor, DT Martin Tevaseu and RB Chauncey Washington.
