McIntyre makes most of start
By Jane McManus
Garrett McIntyre had a week to prepare for his first NFL start when the Jets learned Bryan Thomas wouldn't be ready to play, but he made the most of it with two sacks in the loss to the Steelers.
McIntyre was a 26-year-old rookie last year, undrafted out of Fresno State. He spent two years in San Jose with the Arena Football League and then another two in Canada. He knows chances to play don't come cheaply. Check out the story of how he came to get his first NFL start at the ripe old age of 27. The story is part of espnW's series on players who could be called the 53rd man.
