Mort: Tebow will land with Jaguars

By Rich Cimini

It looks like Tim Tebow could be headed to the Jaguars.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen, citing league sources, reported Saturday night that the World's Most Famous Punt Protector is a virtual certainty to land in Jacksonville for 2013. A Jaguars source told Mortensen there's a "highly likelihood" that Tebow would be part of an open quarterback competition. Remember, the Jets and Jaguars were the two teams that showed the most interested when he was put on the trading block by the Broncos.

On Wednesday, a clearly miffed Tebow strong hinted that he will ask for a trade or release after the season. Later Wednesday, ESPNNewYork.com reported the Jets plan to part ways with him. Clearly, they're ready to move on. There's a good chance Tebow won't be active for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

My question: If the Jaguars want him that badly, shouldn't the Jets be able to extract a late-round draft pick?
