Practice rescheduled for 3:30 p.m.

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- They have rain delays in football, too.
The New York Jets, chased off the field in the morning because of lightning in the area, will practice at 3:30 p.m. Sunday on the turf field at SUNY-Cortland. The rain has stopped, the sky is clearing and the team will conduct practice in pads, as originally planned.
The change in schedule required "major improvising," Rex Ryan said. After the morning's postponement, the team conducted a walk-through in the school's gymnasium.
The change raised the question of whether they would be better served by holding camp at the Florham Park facility, which has a cavernous fieldhouse that could handle a full practice. Ryan said Cortland has "great facilities," claiming it was the first time in four years they had to move indoors in Cortland.
The Jets lucked out because the weather broke. If it didn't, they would've lost a valuable day of practice.
