McKnight misses practice with head injury
By Rich Cimini
CORTLAND, N.Y. -- One day after leaving practice with an oxygen mask, embattled RB Joe McKnight was a no-show Tuesday at practice. He's suffering from a head injury, Rex Ryan confirmed.
Ryan refused to give any details on the injury. Actually, he poked fun at his unwillingness to give out information.
"You can fill it in ... head," he said, laughing. "That's what it is. Anything other than that, that's our official stance. ... That's what we're issuing right now. That's where we're at."
McKnight missed nine days with what was described as a head injury; the team refused to classify it as a concussion even though McKnight was required to go through the NFL's concussion protocol before being cleared for practice. On Sunday, he was cleared for limited practice. On Monday, he didn't feel well before practice. He struggled to the field, stopping three times and dropping to one knee -- yet he practiced. He didn't last long, walking off after falling to the ground on a pass. He told some people he was experiencing a migraine.
