Jets: Playing-time breakdown
By Rich Cimini
Analyzing the playing time from the New York Jets 13-10 loss to the New England Patriots:
OFFENSE (based on 71 snaps)
Quarterback -- Geno Smith 71.
Running back -- Bilal Powell 44, Tommy Bohanon 29, Chris Ivory 24.
Tight end: Jeff Cumberland 38, Kellen Winslow 37.
Wide receiver: Stephen Hill 67, Santonio Holmes 66, Clyde Gates 44, Ryan Spadola 6.
Offensive line: D'Brickashaw Ferguson 71, Vladimir Ducasse 71, Nick Mangold 71, Willie Colon 71, Austin Howard 71.
Quick take: Holmes asks for more playing time and he shall receive. He hardly came off the field. I guess his surgically repaired foot is OK, or close to OK. ... Winslow got more work than last week because they used more "11" personnel, a three-receiver package in which he's the tight end. ... Only 24 snaps for Ivory?
DEFENSE (based on 65 snaps)
Line: Muhammad Wilkerson 63, Sheldon Richardson 56, Damon Harrison 32, Leger Douzable 11, Kenrick Ellis 8.
Linebacker: David Harris 65, DeMario Davis 62, Calvin Pace 55, Garrett McIntyre 44, Antwan Barnes 31, Ricky Sapp 3.
Secondary: Dawan Landry 65, Antonio Cromartie 65, Kyle Wilson 43, Antonio Allen 41, Dee Milliner 37, Jaiquawn Jarrett 18, Darrin Walls 10, Ellis Lankster 3, Isaiah Trufant 3.
Quick take: The big story is that Milliner, the No. 9 overall pick in the draft, was benched in the second half and ended up with only 37 snaps. ... Ellis got Wally Pipped by Harrison, who has earned the starting job, according to Rex Ryan.
