Jets report: A Holmes-Kerley reunion?
By Rich Cimini
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Santonio Holmes and Jeremy Kerley haven't played a game together since Week 4. The New York Jets hope the wide receiver reunion occurs Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
Holmes, still battling a hamstring injury, didn't participate in positional drills Thursday during the early portion of practice. After Wednesday's practice, he spoke optimistically about Sunday. Holmes was limited to only two plays last week because he tweaked the injury in practice.
Kerley, who has missed three games with a dislocated elbow, was on the practice field again and appears to be progressing toward his return.
All things considered, the Jets seem relatively healthy. Cornerback Antonio Cromartie (hip) sat out positional drills and tight end Kellen Winslow (knee) was back on the field after a scheduled day off.
The Jets seemed to be in good spirits on Thursday. Coach Rex Ryan, who called Wednesday's practice the best of the year, even ran downfield to cover a kickoff as a member of the scout team.
