Source: Scout Aaron Glenn hired by Browns
By Rich Cimini
Former New York Jets Pro Bowl cornerback Aaron Glenn, who worked in the team's personnel department and most recently served as a college scout, is leaving to become the assistant secondary coach for the Cleveland Browns, a source confirmed.
Glenn, 41, will join Mike Pettine's coaching staff. Pettine was the Jets' defensive coordinator in 2012, when Glenn was hired by the personnel department. He spent last season as an area scout, covering his native Texas to North Dakota. Glenn was the area scout for second-round pick Jace Amaro, a tight end from Texas Tech.
This marks the second straight year the area scout for the second-round pick is leaving. Michael Davis, who was responsible for scouting quarterback Geno Smith, was dismissed after the draft.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer first reported Glenn's hiring.
