Jets get ready for Mia; Moore practices
By Rich Cimini
The Jets returned to the practice field Wednesday, preparing for their must-win finale in Miami. In a mild surprise, RG Brandon Moore was on the field, practicing -- his first Wednesday practice in four weeks.
Moore had been resting his surgically repaired hip on Wednesdays, but he apparently is feeling better. Also don't discount the urgency of the moment. As everybody knows, the Jets, losers of two straight, need to beat the Dolphins to have any chance of grabbing the final wild-card spot.
Moore is coming off an uncharacterstic performance (two penalties against the Giants) and, as a team captain, he probably wants to set a tone this week. Interesting note on Moore from the web site ProFootball Focus.com: He's the only lineman in the league that hasn't allowed a QB sack or knockdown.
In other injury news, the only player not on the field was backup LB Garrett McIntyre, who suffered a knee injury against the Giants. S Brodney Pool, who was tested for a concussion, was on the field and participated in the early portion.
The Jets still have an opening on the 53-man roster, having released WR Eron Riley. A lot of people have been asking about former Jets WR Braylon Edwards, a surprise release Tuesday by the 49ers. The Jets won't put in a waiver claim for him, a source said. If he clears waivers, he'll be a free agent.
