Enough smokescreening. It's time to put predictions to paper. We'll roll out the top 13 picks before we get to my seven-round mock for the Jets.
1. Chiefs -- OT Eric Fisher; 2. Jaguars -- OT Luke Joeckel; 3. Cardinals (trade) -- OT Lane Johnson; 4. Eagles -- OLB Dion Jordan; 5. Lions -- DE Ezekiel Ansah; 6. Browns -- CB Dee Milliner; 7. Raiders (trade) -- DT Sharrif Floyd; 8. Bills -- WR Tavon Austin; 9. Jets -- DT Star Lotulelei; 10. Titans -- G Jonathan Cooper; 11. Chargers -- G Chance Warmack; 12. Dolphins -- OT D.J. Fluker; 13. Jets -- S Kenny Vaccaro.
The Jets' draft
Round 1 (9) -- Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah. Could replace Sione Po'uha on the nose or play DT in a 4-3 scheme. Stock hurt by a medical concern.
Round 1 (13) -- Kenny Vaccaro, S, Texas. Pick acquired for Darrelle Revis. Vaccaro fills a huge need. Some character questions, but a very solid, two-way safety.
Round 2 (39) -- Keenan Allen, WR, Cal. Santonio Holmes will be a goner in a year. Meet his replacement.
Round 3 (72) -- Travis Kelce, TE, Cincinnati. Need a replacement for Dustin Keller. Kelce has some character concerns, but he has big upside.
Round 4 (106) -- Dwayne Gratz, CB, UConn. Raised his stock with a strong postseason. Suddenly, cornerback is a need. (See: Revis departure).
Round 5 (141) -- Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina. Everybody knows his story. Worth the gamble at this point.
Round 6 (178) -- Armonty Bryant, DE/OLB, East Central (Okla.) Broke Mark Gastineau's school sack record. Took a pre-draft visit to Jets.
Round 7 (215) -- Quinton Dial, DT, Alabama When in doubt, take a 'Bama guy.
