New York Jets: NFL injury report

Practice report: All hands on deck

December, 6, 2013
FLORHAM PARK -- The New York Jets appeared to have all their players available for Friday morning’s practice, which was held in the field house because of rain.

If receivers Santonio Holmes and Jeremy Kerley are available on Sunday against the Raiders, it will be the first time they both play for the Jets since Week 4. Since the Titans game, one or both of them has been injured. Holmes aggravated his hamstring injury last Wednesday and, although active against Miami, only saw a few first-half plays. Kerley had a bad elbow injury that has caused him to miss three games so far.

Kerley has been an important safety valve for rookie quarterback Geno Smith, who has played poorly in the three games Kerley has been out.

Jets coach Rex Ryan will be asked about their availability as his news conference later this afternoon.

Injury Report: Allen misses practice (fever)

November, 29, 2013
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets safety Antonio Allen did not participate in practice on Friday with an illness, and will be listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins at MetLife Stadium.

Ryan said Allen had a fever of around 105 degrees.

As for the others noted as questionable on the Jets injury report -- Antonio Cromartie, Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Kerley and Garrett McIntyre -- Ryan said they would all be game-time decisions. Those are some high-profile potential inactives.

This week in fines: The NFL announced that Jets DL Kenrick Ellis was fined $7,875 for unnecessary roughness for a facemask penalty. Also, Courtney Upshaw of the Ravens was not fined for a season-ending hit on Jets linebacker Troy Davis. Davis immediately left the game with a chest contusion.

And now for the rest of the injury report:

Probable: G Willie Colon (calf), DT Kenrick Ellis (back), WR Stephen Hill (knee), RB Chris Ivory (ankle), C Nick Mangold (wrist), CB Dee Milliner (wrist), WR Greg Salas (finger), DE Muhammad Wilkerson (wrist), TE Kellen Winslow (knee).

Practice Report: Jeremy Kerley improves

November, 22, 2013
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- It looks like wide receiver Jeremy Kerley could be back when the Jets head to Baltimore this Sunday to face the Ravens. Although Kerley still wore the red no-contact jersey, he was in some team reps and made a two-handed catch. On Thursday, he appeared to be catching balls one-handed to avoid reinjuring his elbow.

The Jets could use Kerley. Last week Geno Smith had three turnovers in Buffalo, without Kerley as a short-yardage option.

If Kerley is available, it would be the first game that he and Santonio Holmes played together since Sept. 29 in Tennessee. Holmes said on Thursday that he expects to play.

Holmes (hamstring/foot) appeared to practice more, participating in individual drills for the portion of practice open to the media. David Nelson, who missed Thursday’s practice due to an illness, also appeared to take part in drills.

Linebacker Garrett McIntyre (knee) rode a bike.
