Addison Russell not in lineup for Cubs; Javier Baez gets nod at SS

What will it take for the Cubs to close out the Cardinals?

The Baseball Tonight crew breaks down the Game 4 matchup between the Cardinals and Cubs, with John Lackey facing off against Jason Hammel.

CHICAGO -- Cubs shortstop Addison Russell isn't in the lineup for Game 4 of the team's NL Division Series game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday after leaving Game 3 on Monday with right hamstring tightness.

Javier Baez will take over at shortstop and bat ninth for manager Joe Maddon. The Cubs, up 2-1 in the series, can move on to the NL Championship Series with a victory.

Russell left Game 3 after tripling in the bottom of the fourth inning. He's had hamstring problems in his past, though after the game Monday he rated this injury a "1.5 or 2" on a scale to 10.

The Cubs planned some tests for Tuesday morning while inserting Baez into the lineup. Baez took over for Russell in Game 3 and committed a throwing error while bobbling another ball that went for an infield hit.

Jorge Soler is also in the lineup against right-hander John Lackey of the Cardinals. Soler has been on base all nine times he's been to the plate in the series after not starting Game 1 against the Lackey.

Jason Hammel pitches for the Cubs. Here's the rest of their lineup:
