About six hours after Amare Stoudemire lacerated his left hand, punching through a fire extinguisher at American Airlines Arena out of frustration over the Knicks' 104-94 loss, he posted a message for his Twitter followers early Tuesday morning upon landing with the team in New York.

STAT tweeted, "We all have done thing out of anger that we regret. That makes us human. Bad timing on my part. Sorry guys. This to shall pass."

Unfortunately, it's likely the incident won't pass soon enough. A league source told ESPNNewYork.com after Game 2 that Stoudemire is "almost certain" to not play Thursday night in New York, and there is a possibility he could miss the rest of the series against the Heat.

Stoudemire was seen leaving the arena wearing a cast on his left hand and a sling of his arm. Paramedics were in the Knicks' locker room stitching him up after he broke through the glass casing that protected the fire extinguisher located in the first indoor hallway from the court for the visiting team to walk through. Immediately after, the Heat's maintenance crew installed a new case and cleaned the blood stains from the carpet.
