In the midst of trying to negotiate a contract with the Knicks, Mike Woodson is also on the verge of switching agents, according to sources.
Multiple sources say Woodson is on the verge of splitting with his agent, Keith Glass.
Glass is the son of Joe Glass, who represented ex-Knicks coach Larry Brown during his stormy one-season tenure in New York. Brown, who signed a five-year, $50 million deal with the Knicks, reached an $18.5 million settlement with the club after being fired.
The leading candidate to represent Woodson is CAA, the agency with several ties to the Knicks' organization.
Glass issued a statement on Wednesday night.
"Hey Mike deserves the job," he said. "I'm trying to take the high road and I won't be asking anyone at the Garden for directions."
CAA represents Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith. It also represents Knicks executive Mark Warkentien.
Woodson is believed to the leading candidate to take over as the Knicks' head coach next season.
The 53-year-old former Hawks head coach over on an interim basis for the Knicks on March 14, when Mike D'Antoni stepped down. He led the team to a 18-6 regular season record and a rare playoff win. The Knicks Game 4 win over the Heat was their first postseason victory since 2001. They had lost an NBA-record 13 straight playoff games.
