Yao Ming, confidant of Jeremy Lin and the first Chinese star in the NBA, says he's happy that the Knicks didn't match Houston's three-year, $25.1 million to Lin.
Yao spent nine seasons with the Rockets and says Lin will thrive in Houston, a smaller market in which players can thrive without the intense media scrutiny of New York.
