Opening Tip: Who's the odd man out?

Every weekday throughout the season, ESPNNewYork.com will tackle a burning question about the Knicks in our "Opening Tip" segment.

Today's Burning Question: Who's the odd man out now that Marcus Camby's back?

Camby will make his season debut on Friday night against Dallas. If healthy, Camby should provide a boost to a Knicks defense that's been dominant through the first three games.

The Knicks have held opponents to a league-low 85.3 points per game and are allowing them to shoot just 40 percent from the floor.

Camby, 38, is still viewed as a stellar interior defender. He averaged nine rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 23 minutes per game for the Rockets last season. The Knicks hope that Camby can provide solid minutes at center behind Tyson Chandler.

But in order to get Camby on the floor, one member of the Knicks' current front line is going to have to take a seat.

Mike Woodson hasn't decided who that will be just yet.

"I got to figure that out. That’s what I’m paid to do," the coach said on Thursday. "I’ve said all along: it’s not how many minutes you get. It’s what you do with the minutes that you get. I’m a big believer in that. I’m not here to satisfy anybody. I’m here to coach this team the best way I’m capable of coaching it along with the staff. When you get in the game, you’ve got to perform and play."

So, who sits?

It'll either be Rasheed Wallace or Kurt Thomas.

Thomas has given the Knicks solid minutes off the bench and is in better shape than Wallace. But the 38-year-old Wallace, a crowd favorite, has showed that he can still knock down the outside shot -- hitting two 3-pointers and a turnaround jumper in Philly on Monday night.

The belief here is that Woodson should stick with Thomas for the time being and continue to play Wallace in limited minutes as he gets his wind back.

But don't be surprised if Woodson sticks with Wallace, whom he urged to come out of a two-year retirement to join the Knicks.

Question: Who do you think should sit to make room for Camby? Wallace or Thomas?
