Jason Kidd needed seven stitches to close a gash on the side of his head that opened in the first quarter of Sunday's game against Indiana.
Kidd collided with Indiana guard and Brooklyn product Lance Stephenson. It appeared that Stephenson's tooth hit the side of Kidd's head, resulting in a sizeable cut.
Kidd initially wore a headband to cover the blood and returned to the court to shoot three free-throws. He then left the court to receive the stitches.
The 39-year-old returned to the floor in the second quarter, wearing the headband over the gash.
