With Jason Kidd sidelined with lower back spasms for the third straight game, the Knicks will stick a bigger lineup against the Wizards, featuring Kurt Thomas at power forward and Carmelo Anthony at small forward.
The bigger lineup forces Anthony to move out of the power forward spot, where he'd started the first 12 games of the year for the Knicks (10-4).
The move back to small forward -- Anthony's natural position -- hasn't seemed to throw Anthony off at all.
He scored 35 points against Brooklyn on Monday and had 29 in 30 minutes against Milwaukee.
Thomas, 40, started in Kidd's absence against Brooklyn and Milwaukee, but was pulled after just four minutes against the Bucks and replaced by J.R. Smith.
In other lineup news, Mike Woodson said he may use Rasheed Wallace and Marcus Camby in the same lineup against Washington (1-12). Camby has played sparingly in the regular season after missing the preseason with a calf injury.
