My colleague Ian O'Connor wrote a moving story about Knicks' director of pro scouting and free agency, John Gabriel, who is suffering from Parkinson's. In his only interview with a New York outlet since he joined the team more than four years ago, Gabriel tells O'Connor, "I felt a little invincible. I'd beaten things a couple of times already. So you know, if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger."
That strength has made Gabriel inspire others who have the incurable and degenerative disorder. To read the entire story, featuring his life's work in the NBA and current personal endeavors, click here.
