Kevin Durant will not play in Wednesday's regular-season finale, meaning Carmelo Anthony will secure his first career NBA scoring title.

Anthony is the first Knick to win the scoring title since Bernard King led the NBA in scoring in 1984-85.

He will sit out of the Knicks' season finale against Atlanta and finish with a 28.7 per-game scoring average. Durant will finish with an average of 28.1 points per game.

The Oklahoma City forward had won the past three scoring crowns.

"I think it's great," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said of Anthony's achievement. "Again, it's a nice individual award but I know Melo's thinking bigger than the scoring title. His whole thought process has been this year is trying to get to the Finals."
