Carmelo Anthony came down awkwardly on his right knee after a fall-away jump shot midway through the third quarter on Tuesday.
He sat out the entire fourth quarter of the Knicks 131-118 win over Toronto.
Afterward, he said his knee was “good.”
“It’s cool, it’s cool. I came down wrong on it tonight but I’m good,” Anthony said. “Just landed funny.”
Anthony tweaked the same knee last week after knocking knees with an opponent.
REST OR REGULAR MINUTES? While Anthony sat out of the fourth due to an injury, Amare Stoudemirewas in the game with the Knicks up 14 and four minutes to play. Mike D’Antoni had been non-committal about resting his starters after the Knicks clinched a playoff berth on Sunday.
On Tuesday, a game that the Knicks led by 20 throughout until Toronto cut the lead to ten midway through the fourth, Stoudemire played 35:15. He entered Tuesday’s game averaging 37 minutes per.
Anthony played 28:32 and sat our the entire fourth. He entered play Tuesday averaging 36.9 minutes per game with New York. Chauncey Billups (32.9 minutes with the Knicks) played 25:54.
