Carmelo Anthony was in Brooklyn on Thursday to unveil two newly-refurbished courts at Red Hook East Houses, where he grew up.
So what did Anthony think about Jason Kidd crossing the river to become the Nets head coach after retiring as a Knick? While the Knicks' star is happy for him, he feels the loss heading into next season.
"I've been talking to him. I'm close with Jason for the longest," Melo said. "We'll still continue to have that chemistry, that friendship that we had when he was playing here. I wish him all the luck of his first coaching year. I was kind of a little upset that he went right across the bridge. But we laugh and joke about that; it's all fun and games, and I truly tip my hat off to him. He deserved it."
