GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- After all of the drama surrounding the New York Knicks' inclusion of J.R. Smith's younger brother, Chris Smith, on the 15-man roster, the younger Smith didn't end up getting off the bench in his first stint with the team.
The Knicks on Monday announced they had assigned Chris Smith to their D-League affiliate, the Erie BayHawks. The move was an expected one.
It also doesn't change the complexion of the Knicks' roster. Smith is still a part of the 15-man roster and the Knicks will still pay him his full $490,180 salary.
