Those "Fire Woodson" chants you've heard at recent Knicks home games? They don't bother Mike Woodson.

"Listen, I've been in this thing 30 years. I've been playing basketball all my life. I've not always been the most liked guy when I played on teams. That's just the nature of our sport. Does it bother me? Absolutely not," Woodson said on Friday.

In home losses to San Antonio and Atlanta, fans at the Garden have chanted "Fire Woodson" at the head coach.

The Garden faithful directed similar chants toward Isiah Thomas and Mike D'Antoni. Both ended up resigning.

"Fans and people are gonna say and do what they need to do and say. And I have no control over that," Woodson said. "What I can control is how I approach my everyday life and how I come to work and I try to prepare to get guys to do the right thing."

The Knicks are 3-8 and have lost four in a row. Woodson, though, received a vote of confidence from owner James Dolan in an interview with the New York Post.

Chandler on schedule: Tyson Chandler (fractured right fibula) will travel with the Knicks to Washington on Saturday, an indication that his injury is healing well.

The center was on a rowing machine during Friday's practice. He was not wearing a brace and didn't need a crutch to support himself. Chandler hasn't started running yet but hopes to return in 2-3 weeks.

Metta says knee feels fine: Metta World Peace practiced in full on Friday and said his left knee felt fine. The veteran had fluid drained from his knee twice in the last two weeks and missed two games earlier this week.

"It was an issue sometimes. It fills up with liquid sometimes. You've got to get it drained," World Peace said. "The doctors did a good job. Hopefully I can sustain it for a long period of time."
