Halftime Report: Blazers 56, Knicks 39

11/25/2013

Here are a few observations from the first half of the Knicks-Blazers game:

Absolutely awful: Here's all you need to know about the first half: Kenyon Martin has been the Knicks' best player, with 8 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds. That's not a good thing.

All the other Knicks have been no-shows so far. New York trailed by as many as 24 in the half and is getting outscored 26-12 in the paint. The Knicks are fortunate to be down just 17 at the half.

Three-for-all: Portland has crushed the Knicks from the perimeter. New York's defensive rotations have been a step slow, allowing the Blazers' shooters plenty of room to knock down shots. Portland (12-2) is 6-for-15 from beyond the arc. The Knicks are 0-for-6.

PG problems: The Knicks continue to struggle with guarding point guards. Beno Udrih and Pablo Prigioni had a tough time guarding Damian Lillard in the first half. Lillard had 12 points and three assists. He hit two of his three 3-point attempts. Nicolas Batum has a game-high 15 points on 5-for-6 shooting. Yikes.
