NEW YORK -- This will solve everything.
The Knicks are going to break from recent tradition on Saturday and wear their white uniforms against the Hawks.
New York (6-16) has worn its orange alternate uniforms for weekend home games this season -- and the results have been awful.
The Knicks are 0-6 in the orange unis. Included in those losses are a 41-point drubbing against the Celtics and a 31-point loss to San Antonio.
They aren't ditching the uniforms though. The Knicks are wearing white to appease the NBA. The last time New York played Atlanta, the combination of the Knicks' orange and Atlanta's red road uniforms made it difficult for viewers to differentiate between the two teams on television.
The NBA said after the game that the color mix-up wouldn't happen in the future. So the Knicks will wear white tonight.
Technically, New York doesn't have to wear the orange jerseys again this season. Under NBA guidelines, a team must wear its alternate jerseys six times during the season. The Knicks have already fulfilled that obligation.
