GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Tyson Chandler is feeling good and confident.

The Knicks hope Chandler will wake up without any physical setbacks and be able to play Wednesday against the Bucks in Milwaukee.

On Tuesday, Chandler went through three-on-three contact in practice and emerged unscathed. The Knicks desperately need Chandler with Amar'e Stoudemire now out for "a while."

"We’ll see how I feel in the morning," Chandler said. "I was pretty confident out there moving around with the guys and banging, really not having any setbacks. Me and Coach will discuss it tomorrow and go from there."

Chandler says no matter how much he does in practice that he will not be able to simulate game speed. Head coach Mike Woodson said he would've liked to have gotten Chandler in some five-on-fives but didn't have enough bodies to do so with Raymond Felton, Pablo Prigioni, Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin all out due to injuries.

"He looked OK," Woodson said. "I mean, still not a five-on-five setting because we just don’t have enough bodies to help him in that area. But he went three-on-three and did some conditioning and we will see how he feels after he sleeps on it tonight."

Chandler is in the sixth week of his four-to-six week timetable for recovery after fracturing his leg on Nov. 5.

"I’ve done everything possible to try to keep myself in good condition. And mentally I’ve watched a lot of basketball, studied a lot of our team and others," Chandler said. "So things that I couldn’t do on the floor, I tried to do mentally, so hopefully I can come back and bring a high level of basketball back to my team."
