Chandler a game-time decision vs. Heat

GREENBURGH, NY -- Tyson Chandler will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Heat due to a lingering illness.

Chandler did not practice on Monday. In fact, only four Knicks practiced. Most were out due to injury or illness.

"It's kind of gone around," Mike Woodson said.

The coach said Andrea Bargnani and Kenyon Martin have also been affected. They are also considered game-time decisions.

Beno Udrih is also a game-time decision but is expected to play. Udrih suffered a left knee injury on Tuesday against Detroit. He underwent an MRI on Wednesday but his injury is believed to be minor.

In other injury news, Pablo Prigioni (toe) is getting closer to a return. He is expected to start running next week.

Chris Smith signs with Erie: Ex-Knicks guard Chris Smith has sign a contract with the Erie BayHawks, the Knicks' D-League affiliate.

The Knicks released Smith late last month to make room for F/C Jeremy Tyler.

The Knicks' decision to keep Smith on the regular-season roster stirred emotion among the team's fan base because of his ties to brother and teammate J.R. Smith. Both the Knicks and Chris Smith have acknowledged that Smith's older brother was a factor in the team's decision to keep him.
