INDIANAPOLIS -- Tyson Chandler felt he could have played 30 minutes on Tuesday in Charlotte after returning from an illness. Then again, he admits he likely would have passed out afterward.

Chandler played a little more than 16 minutes in that loss following a four-game absence due to an upper-respiratory infection.

Knicks coach Mike Woodson said he will gauge Chandler’s minutes in Indiana as the game goes along and did not set a specific target.

“I’m just glad he’s back,” Woodson said.

Chandler said he’s not worried about court time.

“I want to play to win,” the center said. “Last game, Coach wanted me out there to get a feel. I just want to play.”

Twin bigs: Woodson expressed confidence in his 7-footers being paired together in the starting lineup, with Chandler operating at center and Andrea Bargnani as a power forward who can space the floor.

“Now that [Chandler] is back in there, they’ll build some chemistry together and try to make it work,” Woodson said. “It’s hard to build rhythm when Tyson’s been in and out of the lineup for so many games. They just need some time to work. I think it’ll be fine.”

Pablo waits: Pablo Prigioni is inactive and will miss his 15th straight game due to a hairline fracture of one of his toes on his right foot. The Knicks gave some thought earlier Thursday to letting him play against the Pacers but decided against it.

Woodson said Prigioni is likely to return on Monday when the Knicks host Brooklyn.

“We’ll give him the weekend,” Woodson said. “He probably needed a couple more days, from a conditioning standpoint.”
