While his sidekick Carmelo Anthony withdrew from the World All-Star Classic yesterday, Amare Stoudemire is still on board, according to ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard.
STAT will be teaming up with All-Stars Carlos Boozer, Chris Bosh, Tyson Chandler, Kevin Garnett, Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, Chris Kaman, Kevin Love, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo. In addition to Melo, LeBron James and Chris Paul also dropped out to focus on their families and prepare for a possible season.
The tour tips off on Sunday in San Juan, Puerto Rico, at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum at 7 p.m., and it will pit two teams selected by captains from among the players. The showcase has other scheduled stops in London, Macau and Melbourne, Australia, but with "significant progress" coming out of Wednesday's labor talks, it could very well be a one-stop showcase.
