While Ronny Turiaf hasn't penned an official overseas deal to play in France, his fellow Frenchman Tony Parker, of the San Antonio Spurs, is confident that the Knicks center could join ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne as early as this weekend. Parker, who is currently playing for ASVEL, discussed the situation on his weekly radio show on France's RMC Sport station.
Turiaf suffered a left hand injury that kept him from playing in this summer's European Championship, but his agent, Mark Bartelstein, said the injury is fully healed. If Turiaf joins Asvel, he will be the first Knick to suit up for a European team during the lockout.
