Tony Parker: NYK interested in Boris Diaw
By Jared Zwerling
After Boris Diaw scored 27 points to lead the Bobcats over the Knicks on Jan. 4, 118-110, Mike D'Antoni called the power forward, and one of his former Suns players, one of the best in the game.
Now it appears the Knicks are inquiring about Diaw with the March 15 trade deadline approaching, according to Spurs point guard Tony Parker, a fellow Frenchman. Parker delivered the news on French-speaking station Radio Monte Carlo on Tuesday.
"He's in shape," he said. "I'm the first to make fun of him when he gains too much weight but right now it's not the case. We're very interested to get him, but New York is interested too. We'll see."
A trade, however, seems unlikely with Diaw earning $9 million this season. Through 36 games, he's averaging 7.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
