It's an alignment that Mike Woodson used frequently earlier in the season, often with great success.
Woodson said Sunday he'd use Anthony at power forward or small forward based on the opponent's lineup. Against teams with bigger front lines, Anthony is likely to play small forward.
"I going to move him back to 4 today and just see how it goes," Woodson said.
James White will start at shooting guard for the second straight game over Ronnie Brewer. The slumping Brewer had started every game before Friday's game against Chicago. He did not play against the Bulls.
A few other pregame tidbits:
Woodson likes what he sees from Anthony in the pick and roll:
"We've tried to mix and use Melo some playing the pick-and-roll spot and he's done a great job at that. So I won't milk that a lot but he'll have the opportunity to run pick and rolls."
Woodson wants to see Iman Shumpert get through the Knicks' next two practices pain-free. If so, he may make his season debut against Detroit in London on Jan. 17.
"I'm sure he's going to be a little sore, the fact that he hasn't played in some time," the coach said. "(I) just (want) to get him through health-wise and just see where he is. A lot of that will be based on his minutes. He'll definitely be restricted when he first steps out on the floor. But just to have him back in uniform will be nice."
