Earl Barron to replace Sheed
By Jared Zwerling
With Rasheed Wallace retiring from the NBA for the second time, the Knicks have signed center Earl Barron to replace him.
The Knicks' roster now stands at a max of 15 players.
Barron returns to New York after playing here in the 2009-10 season, when he put up 11.7 points and 11 rebounds over seven games. It was by far the best outing of his six-season career, during which he has averaged 4.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
Barron will be playoff-eligible, since he was waived by the Wizards on Dec. 23.
