Prigioni to be in Basketball Without Borders
By Jared Zwerling
Argentine point guard Pablo Prigioni will be traveling to his home country this week to participate in the NBA's second Basketball Without Borders Americas event in Buenos Aires from July 25 to 28. It was first held there in 2005.
The program will include games and skill stations featuring the top 50 boys from 15 different countries, a clinic for the top 40 girls locally, a Special Olympics clinic for 50 athletes and an all-star game for the top players in the camp. In addition to the NBA players coaching, they'll make their impact off the court by painting homes in under-served communities.
Argentina isn't the only country hosting "Basketball Without Borders" this summer. Portugal will host BWB Europe for the first time when the camp visits Almada from Aug. 15 to 18, and BWB Africa will return to Johannesburg, South Africa, for the 10th time from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1.
