In addition to the contenders at the top of the conference, many teams that have struggled in the past few seasons are expected to improve. Detroit, Washington and Cleveland have the personnel in place to take a step forward this year.
So, if the preseason pundits are correct, the Knicks will have plenty of competition in the East.
