Halftime Report: Knicks 59, Magic 54

By Ian Begley

Here are a few observations from the first half of the Knicks-Magic game:

No 'D' on 3s: The Knicks are having a tough time defending the 3-point line. And that's putting it nicely.

Orlando has hit eight of its 15 3-point attempts. They hit six of their first seven. Wow.

Fortunately for Mike Woodson, the Knicks are just as hot. They've hit 10-of-18 from beyond the arc.

Four Knicks have hit two 3-pointers.

Balanced offense: For the second straight night, the Knicks have had a balanced attack.

Carmelo Anthony leads New York with 13 first-half points. Five other Knicks have at least six points. Tim Hardaway Jr. has hit two 3s and has eight points. Andrea Bargnani has hit both of his threes and has seven points.

On Thursday, seven Knicks scored in double figures, led by Anthony's 19 points.

Afflalo dominant:
New York's having a tough time guarding Arron Afflalo (16 points, 6-for-10 shooting). Iman Shumpert has guarded the former Nuggett for most of the game.

Victor Oladipo (11 points) also had a strong first half.
