Woody: Shump a game-time decision

BOSTON -- Iman Shumpert is a game-time decision against the Boston Celtics due to a bruised left knee. Still, coach Mike Woodson is optimistic his starting shooting guard will be able to suit up.

“I think [he’ll play],” Woodson said this morning at the Knicks’ shootaround at TD Garden. “It’s probably going to be a game-time decision with him. He went through the shootaround, so we’ll just see how he’s feeling.”

The third-year guard bruised his left knee in a collision with Mike Dunleavy in the third quarter of Wednesday night’s win against the Chicago Bulls.

Shumpert told reporters he felt fine after this morning’s shootaround.

“I’m good. It’s just a bruise. [The trainers] said I should be able to play,” Shumpert said.

Shumpert has not missed any games this season but has battled a number of minor injuries. His latest setback led to him showing some frustration on the sideline.

“I was mad that it happened, that I keep banging knees or shoulders, elbows,” Shumpert said. "I’m just sick of little knickknack injuries."

The Knicks will try to avenge a 41-point Sunday loss to Boston when they face off with the Celtics at TD Garden at 7:30 p.m.
