Opening Tip: Can Phil bring title to N.Y.?

By Ian Begley

There's no way to tell the future, so there's no way to tell if the Knicks will be successful under Phil Jackson.

He said on Wednesday that he hopes to impart his vision on the organization and lead it back to glory.

But will Jackson be able to improve the roster this summer despite the Knicks' meager cap situation?

Will Jackson be able to re-sign Carmelo Anthony when Anthony tests free agency this summer?

Will he have success luring free agents to New York in the summer of 2015?

Again, there's no way to tell. But after what you heard from Phil and owner James Dolan on Tuesday, are you optimistic?

Do you believe that Jackson will have success in New York? Will he be the man to snap the Knicks' 41-year title drought?

Up now: The Knicks officially hired Jackson as team president on Tuesday. Ian O'Connor says it will be Phil to blame if the Knicks don't succeed.

Jackson said Carmelo Anthony is in the Knicks' future plans. Ohm Youngmisuk examines the Phil-Melo dynamic here.

Dolan said on ESPN 98.7 FM's "The Michael Kay Show" that he doesn't care about being loved, he just wants to win.

What's next: The Knicks will take on the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.

Question: Do you think Phil Jackson can lead the Knicks to a title?
