Game 147: Pirates @ Mets

10:23 p.m.: Bobby Parnell closes it out. Mets win, 6-2, and sweep the four-game series from Pittsburgh, which is now 0-7 lifetime at Citi Field. The Mets moved over .500 for the first time since Aug. 24. Mike Pelfrey picks up his 15th victory.

10:12 p.m.: Angel Pagan drives in two runs in the eighth. Mets 6, Pirates 2.

9:46 p.m.: Ike Davis' sacrifice fly scores Angel Pagan in the seventh against Chris Resop. Mets 4, Pirates 2.

9:32 p.m.: Mike Pelfrey strikes out Neil Walker on an 85 mph split-finger fastbal to end the seventh and strand two Pirates in scoring position. Mets lead, 3-2, at the Seventh Inning Stretch. Pelfrey hugs Jerry Manuel in the dugout.

9:17 p.m.: Mike Pelfrey gives himself a lead with an RBI double in the sixth off reliever Sean Gallagher. Lucas Duda scores after his second straight double. Mets 3, Pirates 2, bottom 6.

8:32 p.m.: Lucas Duda snaps an 0-for-23 skid with a two-run double in the fourth that evens the score at 2. It is only Duda's second major league hit in 35 at-bats.

8:19 p.m.: Will the Mets place Angel Pagan in center field and Carlos Beltran in a corner outfield spot in 2011? That's for whomever is GM and manager to decide. But Pagan provided evidence Thursday night that it's the sensible alignment, as he manned center field with Beltran out of the lineup. Pagan made a sliding catch on the track in right-center to retire John Bowker in the fourth inning, then doubled Pedro Alvarez off first base. Ronny Cedeno did follow with an RBI triple as the Pirates took a 2-0 lead against Mike Pelfrey. Charlie Morton, who entered 1-11 with a 9.05 ERA, has held the Mets scoreless through three innings.

The start of the game will be delayed 10 minutes by a violent late-afternoon storm. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 p.m.
