9:39 p.m.: Mets lose, 5-2. They have been mathematically eliminated from postseason contention.

9:26 p.m.: Elmer Dessens surrenders a three-run homer to Gaby Sanchez in the eighth. Marlins 5, Mets 2.

9:12 p.m.: Pedro Feliciano replaces Mike Pelfrey for the bottom of the eighth. Pelfrey is denied win No. 16, instead receiving a no-decision. His line: 7 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 K, 112 pitches (69 strikes).

9:09 p.m.: David Wright delivers a solo homer off Jose Veras in the eighth. 2-2.

8:57 p.m.: David Wright has a grounder from Mike Stanton kick off his glove for his 20th error of the season on what would have been the final out of the seventh inning as Gaby Sanchez scores and the Marlins take a 2-1 lead. Jose Reyes then boots Brad Davis' grounder for a second straight error by the Mets.

7:55 p.m.: Florida's Logan Morrison doubles in the third inning, but is stranded. Morrison has reached base safely in 40 straight games, within six of matching Luis Castillo's Marlins franchise record.

7:45 p.m.: Jose Reyes triples with two out in the third, but is stranded there. It's Reyes' 23rd straight road game with a hit, setting a new franchise record. Keith Hernandez had a hit in 22 straight road games in 1987.

7:41 p.m.: Mike Pelfrey, bidding for his 16th win, surenders a second-inning run. 1-1 after 2.

7:24 p.m.: Lucas Duda homers for the second time in his major league career. Mets lead, 1-0, mid-second.
