10:01 p.m.: Carlos Beltran has three hits including a homer and triple, but Jon Niese surrenders six runs in 5 2/3 innings and Mets lose, 7-5.

9:40 p.m.: The Mets score two runs in the eighth to pull within 6-5, but Nick Evans strikes out with two runners in scoring position against deposed Marlins closer Leo Nunez to end the threat.

8:07 p.m.: Carlos Beltran delivers his fifth homer this season and Lucas Duda adds a sacrifice fly in the fourth as the Mets move within 5-3.

7:51 p.m.: Jose Reyes delivers an RBI single that scores Ruben Tejada in the third as the Mets pull within 5-1. Alex Sanabia had retired the first seven Mets hitters before Tejada's infield single.

7:30 p.m.: Jon Niese surrenders five first-inning runs, including a bases-loaded walk to Mike Stanton and two-run double to Wes Helms in a 38-pitch frame. Marlins 5, Mets 0 after one inning.
