Sandy Alderson will meet face to face with Carlos Beltran on Saturday in Puerto Rico. Alderson will attend a press conference for the Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy, which is due to open in August 2011. Beltran spearheaded the development of the high school on his native island. Angel Pagan and Jose Reyes also are scheduled to attend.

Alderson is swinging by after a visit to the Dominican Republic, which will include a managerial interview with Triple-A Buffalo/Escogido manager Ken Oberkfell.

Beltran plans to address the media about his charitable activities and Mets issues on Thursday afternoon. If you need a refresher on the state of Beltran's knees, read this story from the end of the season.
