J.P. Ricciardi, who now oversees professional scouting for the Mets, has hired scouts Roy Smith and Jim D'Aloia, Foxsports.com reports. D'Aloia was with Ricciardi's former club, the Toronto Blue Jays. Smith reportedly worked for Paul DePodesta in Los Angeles.

The Mets lost advance scout Bob Johnson to the Atlanta Braves and did not retain pro scouts Russ Bove and Duane Larson.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
